Does anyone have any info on these lights?(Is the wiring done on U.S. cars?)
I didn't know we had rear fogs.
If all I have to do, is cut a hole and install a switch, I'm up for it!
thanks everyone
Oh yeah, I got ALL my suspension parts, so I will be posting on torque specs soon.

The wires are apparently there. However, the research I've done indicates that getting the "focus" of the bulbs through the rear lenses would be quite difficult for a retro-fit effort. Without the proper focus they would be little more than additional bulbs in the rear lens and not true fog lights. To get the proper effect would seem to require a factory rear lens with the lights in place. At least, that was my conclusion after researching this some time ago.
If you wish to proceed anyway, here's some info that may prove helpful:

Get the harness from a dismantler. The holes for rear fog lights in your reflector panel are just covered with plastic from the mold. Just dremel some holes in them like your others. Install lights into holders and holders into panel. Remove connector ends from harness plug. Patch brown lead to common browns and other loose connector into third position of your exisitng connector. Remove radio, cut hole in marked area the same size as adjacent holes. Install switch into plug connector just hanging there inside and mount switch. done. Order correct rear fog light bezel from Porsche. Did the install on my 94 RSAmerica, looked great...and finally got rid of that 'blank switch hole' on the dash.
Bought the kit here (although you could buy everything a la carte from Jeff at Sunset Imports):

I am the one that wrote the article on the RSA web page that Ilko referred to a couple messages back. Yes the whole rear lens has to be replaced. It really is a sharp look - and does complete the dash.

Not sure what the inside of the US styled rear reflector is like but when I rebuilt my Euro-type a few years ago (new lens), I found that the rear foglights had reflectors and louvered grids to give the correct beam pattern.

Sounds like the grids and reflectors are part of the red lens and on the inside surface of the lens and not part of the housing. Is that correct? thanks

Hi Steve
No, the grids (metal) etc were fitted between the housing (black plastic) and the red lens when the whole lot was glued together at manufacture. I can't remember much detail about the reflectors. For info, the reversing lights had pale green filters as well to give a white output - red (pink) + green = white. For further info (!) the new lens was an OEM brand and was pink as opposed to red as many others have assumed.
