Default Blaupunkt Symphony - which CD Changer?

Hi All,

My 964 came with, and still has, a Blaupunkt Symphony head unit. According to the option codes the car also had a 6 CD changer unit mounted in the luggage compartment, but this is now missing. Does anyone have any idea which unit I should be trawling Ebay for? I have been searching under various parameters on Ebay and have a found a few likely candidates, but I am loath to bid without knowing if they would work with the Symphony head.

I know the original changer was likely to have been pretty crap by today's standards, but I would like to have the original set-up if possible.

PS if anyone needs a copy of the instruction manual for the Symphony, please let me know and I will scan the pages for anyone that wants them.

I have a Blau 6 disk CD changer that was in my car when I bought it. I am unsure if it was original to the car, however. If you can determine the model number I will check it against mine. If I have what you want I will give you a good deal so that I don't have to mess with selling it on eBay, which was my prior plan.

Mine had a 6-disc Sony CD in the trunk. The PO claimed was factory-installed. I think it was dealer-installed. It communicated wirelessly to the head unit. I got radio static whenever there was interferrence on that frequency. It sounded only OK in the countryside, but was painful to listen to otherwise.

Having wasted some of MisterRisky's time ( sorry ), I have discovered that it is a Porsche CDC-1 unit that I am after ( as stated in the manual supplement...that I just discovered! ).

No waste of my time! I did some research and it looks like the PN for that changer is 964.645.111.00 which was superseded by 993.645.111.X. They are both Blau.

I will check the one I have at home and see if it might be one of these.

Thanks MisterR. Let me know if what you have may work with my unit. I think it will have CDC-1 printed on the front, if it is that unit; no Blaupunkt markings.

The originbal factory unit has Porsche CDC-1 printed on the top face. No pics, but it is mounted on the right side of the luggage compartment as you look at it from the front. Mounted with a metal bracket to the wheel arch and sitting in a carpet bag.

Mine is placed under the carpet, fitted down between the spare wheel.
