20" wheels?
Sorry if this has been covered, but I only found threads about 18" and 19" wheels...
Is it a problem to put 20" wheels on a 964? Personally, I think it's too big, but I am considering purchasing a 964, and a C4 for sale near me has some 20" wheels on it. Could that weaken any suspension or driveline components?
I don't know specifically what the wheels are, but here are a couple of pics:
It's at a dealer, so not much info from the ad: the ad. Just don't want to drive all that way to check it out if it's a waste of time...

Wow, I think i've only seen one 911 with 19s on it, this is just surprising
If it were me, I wouldnt want a 911 that had 20s on it. There's enough discussion about what 18s could potentially do, the 20s would further that tenfold.

You sure they're 20"? They dont look that big to me in the picture. I have just recently taken my 18" Gemballa Le Mans off and replaced my D90s until I sort some new tyres out. After recently having the car lowered the ride on the 18"s over bumps was nearly unbearable. The D90s give the car a much better ride. They do look god awful though. I can only imagine with wheels even larger than 18" that things would be worse.

They look like the new 19" Veloces.
Does it matter whether wheels are 17,18 or 19" if the tyre profiles make the rolling diameter the same? (except of course more metal = less forgiving ride!).

I wouldn't make the potential purchase of the car dependent on the wheels. If the overall condition is good, service history documented and the price is right, you could still keep or sell the wheels...Those rims look pretty nice though but the ride will for sure be bumpy and hard...

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure if they are really 20's or not, that's just what it says in the ad, and the pics aren't good enough to read the sidewall. I agree about selling them after a purchase, but I was concerned that they might already have done some damage. Otherwise, I think that a black wheel looks very sharp on that car
I may head up that way next weekend to look at another car, so I will see about combining the trip...

Almost all of the clubracers I see in my region run 18" wheels on 964's and 993's. There must be some reason for that.
FWIW, I've never seen any 964/993 clubracer in my region running 19" wheels (not that I'm an expert).

Maybe it has something to do with availability of rims and tire sizes??
