Look at the edge of the wheel lip. The Porsche wheels are rounded, the replicas are squared off. Minor.

Slightly off topic but are the replica cup 2s slightly lighter than cup 1s? I'm thinking about getting a set for track tyres. The replica cup 2s are even better value over here as they're £100 cheaper than the replica cup 1s.

I'll have to look at my wheels when I get home to see the difference in the lip...

& flare of the bolt holes, MM wheels generally have the flare going very close to the wheel centre, genuine do not.

A few pounds makes a huge difference when it comes to wheels ! Besides that the Miglia's are just plain UGLY !

I think the offsets on the factory wheels are correct for the 964, Why else would the engineers at Porsche put them on in the first place if the were not correct !

I agree the 9's look better on the rear.

I prefer OEM quality !

Do you use Pep Boy Oil filters because they are cheaper ? Good Grief !

Ok, I'm not going to argue with you here, if you can feel the difference between the weight of the two wheels on your street car, great, you have much better sensitivity than I do... If you like the look of the OEMs better, great, I mean they DO look so much different than the Mile Miglias. and no, I don't use pep boy oil filters.

BTW, I don't think that anyone has actually established that the Mile Miglias are actually heavier than the stock wheels of the same diameter. I think people are working off an assumption here.

I'm with Geoffrey cause I use both (original and replicas) in the same set and the weights are the same. I use the original 8's for the front and the replica 9s for the rear. They are both very heavy and when painted satin black, you can't tell which is which from 10 feet away. If you like the original better, fine but you can't say the replicas are ugly when they are 90% the same. My wheels have taken a beating and are up for a fresh coat of satin black paint to cover the scratch. At 200$ a wheel for the rears, you can't go wrong.

I work in the OEM Automotive industry and if an engineer or designer can get 2 ounces out of a wheel he is a hero let alone a few pounds.

I could be all wet, and some one who has a set with out tires mounted should throw them on a scale to get the actual weights of the two wheels.

The OEM wheel has much more design sensitivity tan the crude copies. Well I guess I notice these things because I am in the industry.

To the common eye yes they are both five spoke five lug wheels.

I agree they are cheaper in every way to the Speed Line wheels. You get what you pay for. And to me they look cheap and are easy to spot.

Didn't MM make the OE wheels for Porsche?

Interesting view point. I'd like to think I was up on all things 964 but got to be honest I struggle with being able to tell the difference betwen OEM and Mille Miglias. To be fair, the differences aren't really that huge are they. Anyone else feel the same?

Does anyone have close up pictures showing the differences between the MM and OEM Cup 1's? I am looking to buy a set of OEM Cup 1's but am tempted by the price of the MM replicas but am not sure what the visual differences are.

I will add, that for a track car, I would use a proper racing wheel, I wouldn't even use a factory street car wheel due to the weight differences, strength (forged vs cast) and rebuildability (3piece vs 1 piece). I just think for the street, it really isn't going to make a noticable difference. If I recall correctly (and I may not), the MM are TUV approved which means that they do meet some minimum standard.

Factory Cup 1 is 7x17, not 7.5x17.

7.5s can be factory, but fitted to 968 etc. Had them on my 944 Turbo. Offsets wrong for a 964.
