We originally thought the same, but the trouble is that there is a lot of work to do in repairing a damaged shell which adds more to the cost than starting with a perfect shell to begin with. There is also the problem of the stigma wrongly attached to a repaired shell (well, wrongly the way we repair them), so on balance we figured that it was better to start as we mean to go on and only use the best possible parts for what will become a very expensive but perfect RS.

Its a pity we are an ocean apart, I could have used those rear trailing arms and axle shafts for my own widebody conversion.

If you have time I think it would be great if you could show alot of pictures of the body work as it progresses. Especially when those rear quarters get cut off and the widebody ones get welded in.

We are not cutting off the turbo quarters because we are simply using the entire turbo bodyshell, replacing the roof for a non-sunroof version is the only panel work required. On top of this we will be welding in the M003 cage and making all the detail bracket removals/additions to turn it into a pukka RS shell.

OK, 4 days to go, neck-and-neck between Maritime Blue and Viper Green with Blood Orange coming up on the outside.

I wonder who is going to have the casting vote?

I had to extend the Maritime Blue lead as I see the GT3RS's multiply. I think we'll all look back to 2007 as the Orange and Green retro year.

Maritime blue is my first choice, however if wanted something less common I would go for blood orange.
