Car was keyed
Someone keyed my car last night!
Ran up the right wing, around the head light surround and half way across the glass. I guess this last was to ensure that I knew it was keyed?
Fortunately it was with the plastic head of the key so it didn't break through the paint. It'll buff out, but it's going to leave a mark.
It's funny, as I've recently come to view my car as an old classic. A machine worthy of it's age and breeding, but not as a super-car or a status symbol.
I know what it's worth. I know what it takes to maintain it. I drive it because I like it.
The status aspect was a bit of a detriment from the start. Though, I suppose, it still has that appeal despite my fuel, oil and leather view of it.
Some days life seems, well, challenging, but for sure, I'll never feel that low.
I truly pity a person who could do such a thing.

I feel for you. I just do not understand what make a person to want to do that to someones car....let alone a 964. No respect for others and their property.
my bro-in-law has a 98 Civic that he takes to college here and he got it keyed while he was parked at the local library. Its just dispicable.

Sorry to hear the news. In college, my car was keyed down to the bare metal on both sides of the car. I don't understand why some people do this to cars.
I hope that the culprits are caught and punished appropriately.

Sorry to hear that. That really pisses me off, and is probably the one reason that I don't take my car out as much as I would like to. Fear of being keyed or a hole in the Targa.
If I have to leave it in an unattended public lot, that I am not comfortable with... it's staying home.
I recently got the privledge of parking in our underground private lot at work... now I take it to work more.
Some people just SUCK!

I was told by a previous owner that my car was keyed before I had it. Fortunately just the door. He was able to have it buffed out and I can't tell where it was now unless I look very close with the light hitting it just right.

Makes you want to get one of those 20,000 volt tazers hooked to your alarm...I just had someone pry the badge off the front of the car, most buffed out but they scratched the hood under the badge, can't see it now but it really pisses me off...hopefully it will all buff out.

You can try to buff it out first. If that doesn't work I believe they do a spray fix for these sort of things instead of spraying an entire door. Might want to look into that.

Terrible. You may be lucky and be able to rub the mark with your finger to see if it will come out since it seems to be done with plastic. I've had deep marks that looked permament and was able to do this!
I don't consider my car to be anything overly special, especially given the plethora or porsches on the roads by me now compared to say 20 years ago (they cheapened the brand and everyone qualifies for leasing one....), but I'm still careful where I park it, although I've always been more worred about dings than something intential like this. Pisses me off just reading about this.

Thanks guys.
I've worked on it a bit. It looks like it's going to rub out. I doubt most people will see any remnants.
It makes me sad to think that people can be so small minded. Ah, well.
Cheers.

Yeah, this is always sickning, glad ro hear it'll rub out..touch-up is a pain, especially with metallics..greys and silvers in particular.
Chris.. sorry to hear about yours too.. especially in Bethesda (I assume) didn't think there would be many "haters" in the area.
