Default Price for a Clutch Replacement

I should be getting a quote from my mechanic today. Whats a good price (US or CDN) for this job? As well, I assume that I should only use Genuine Porsche Parts

All the best,

Jack

Sounds about right. The parts aint cheap and its a drop the engine job. Take the opportunity and consider going lightweight ;-)

PO had the clutch done in 2002 in NJ. Bill came to $1500, including parts and labor.

Clutch kit runs from 400-600... depending on where you buy them, parts only.
That is a stock Sachs unit.
Not sure about the labor.

Depending on the use of the car, you can add a light weight flywheel while you're in there

It has been my experience that even though typical parts + labor for just the clutch may come in under $2k at an independent, the while-you-are-there fixes can easily ramp the bill up by $1k-$2k rather quickly.

Goodluck and save yourself some repeated labor down the road by taking care of the while-you-are-there fixes. In the long run, it will be cheaper to take the bigger hit now.

ViperBob (on rennlist) sold me an RS lightweight flywheel and clutch kit for under $1400 when I did mine. If you go lightweight, I suggest the RS kit as opposed to aftermarket. Labor will depend on hourly rates, etc, but you can ballpark anywhere from $1000 to $1500 labor. Definitely think about taking care of all related components while you're in there. I even replaced the clutch slave cyinder and hose. And don't forget the rear main seal if it shows any signs of weeping.
