However, as anybody who knows will tell you, the RS map is different from the standard map. Why? Do you know the effect of using an RS DME in a standard C2? It makes a difference. In addition, most standard RS's make significantly more than 13 bhp above a standard C2.
Sorry, guys, but we know where this is going. Next there will be calls for graphs. Then they will be posted and we will be told why they are wrong and we will go around and around in circles! Whatever!

As for RS hp, it is what Porsche stated. And with a revised DME and select components, that all adds up to 13hp. If you believe it more, so be it. Anyone can believe their engine to be whatever. Sometimes I wonder if the mind is the only dyno worth using on a forum.

"I just changed my Y. My engine now has X + 13 horsepower."

I haven't got a standard car so I have no axe to grind either. I can only report on what I have seen at rolling road days. I have learnt to ignore absolute power figures, as rolling roads can be misleading so I concentrate on comparisons between cars and I can assure you that in most cases, standard RS's seem to make noticably more than 10 bhp (Porsche claim) more power than the best standard c2's. It's not that scientific, as it is difficult to know how good the C2's actually were, but either all the C2's are consistantly lower than standard or the RS's make more power than Porsche claimed.
Most of the contemporary reports on the car when it was launched said that the car was pulling more power than advertised. Most specialists say the same. Now, I know that none of the above is very scientific but when you consistantly see the same thing and it looks like a dog, smells like a dog and sounds like a dog, I will call it a dog until somebody show me some DNA evidence to the contrary.

Someday I'll learn to spend more time in my flower garden than entering into any forum discussion that concerns chips. :-)
But I'm here, so this is my final thought. Promise.
The one personally disappointing aspect of the 964 engine is its' inability to rev. It's a sportscar. But, outside the RS, a lazy engine.
It's an easy fix. Install a lwt clutch/flywheel, and now with Jason's chip, no stalling issues. Were I to do it all again, this would be my first change. I may have the opportunity to do so, if I find another 964.
