Gary,
Sorry but the outer wishbone ball joint pick ups are different between 963 and 993 .
I did think about converting my 964 to 993 wishbones / 993 hubs / wishbone track ends / steering rack hub ends !!
That didnt happen !

Dave ,
From those numbers your friends Targa has a severe spring problem at the rear . The rears at 695mm should be less than 663mm !!! Around 650ish mm .
Maybe you should look at that car for him !!
Dont assume that your Cab is wrong . All standard spring 964 will show a higher height from the fender front compared to the rear .
There seem to be a lot of 964 problems in Cornwall . Maybe they have taken too long to get down there !!!! Just a joke !!

Geoff the technology is slowly coming to Cornwall, my car has been neglected since it came from Germany in the year 2000 , bearing in mind I have been off the road for 12 months,
Even in the last hour, I have just fixed my flashing Alarm light in my drivers door, so I am ticking off my list at a rate of knots now.
Bear in mind the measurements were taken from the top of the wheel arch, I am running original D90's and he is running 17" cup alloys

Dave,
Mine came to the UK in 1990 . Fortunately was really looked after by dealers
initially . Then I bought it and kept a close eye on it all round .
Good to see that you are getting it all up together .
The wheel arch measurements on yours are pretty reasonable but your friends
numbers are a disaster !!! Unless he has wildly different tire sizes that car should be looked at fast !
Because the front wheels have to move left and right through the wheel arch
the top of arch to ground numbers will allways be bigger that the rear .
Shocks / Dampers are one area that needs to be good for road performance .
I have always used top adjust Koni front and rear but thats a personal choice .
Springs are an area to be very cautious . So many non original springs out there are crap !
Put them on and six months later the ride height is 2 inches lower !
That makes the car ride more like a brick .
If you spend most of your time on circuits, then super hard ,good lowered springs are necessary .
If you spend most time on the "excellent " UK roads ,then standard springs are still a little hard but can be accepted ( driving a Caterpillar could be better !!! ).
I know that any standard 964RS on country roads has to be driven with a lot more caution than a C2/4 964 . That is just the springs !!
All the best
Geoff

At the moment the back looks low while the front looks high, probably due to weak rear springs..
These measurements are taken from the top of the wheel arches , not the right place but for reference.
Friends c2 targa front 663 rear 695
my c4 cab front 670 rear 630
as you can see in comparison mine has a higher front to rear ratio

Dave,
Just done a fender edge to ground . 660mm Front/640 rear . I have C2 front springs and standard rears which will reset the chassis slope a little .
Sounds like yours is not far off. Take a look at the spring height collars .
Yours is a Cab so carrying a little extra weight .
Your friends numbers have moved from disaster to hmm , something is odd here ! Sounds like you have the better set up !!! Hurray !!!!!

A similar thread started on suspension setups.

I have Powerflex installed. The ride doesn't feel firmer, very much the same as before. As for handling it's hard to tell, as my original bushes were badly worn so the new one really improve the handling and straight stability a lot.

I've also got the Powerflex bushes installed - difficult to tell the difference as they were done at the same time as a suspension upgrade (from worn standard to Bilstein/H+R). However, I'd quite happily use them again.

Drifting
I also have them and you don't think of them driving on the street but I do think they make the front end more precise on track. Just feeling the diffference holding them in your hand makes you believe they are worth the money. Put a screwdriver in the old bushing when it's still in the control arm and you can bend the bushing anyway you want. The PU bushing doesn't almost move at all when you do the same thing.

Dave,
As far as I am aware there is an agreement between Powerflex and Milford Microsystems , 01865 331 552, which makes them available ONLY through Milford. I suggest you give them a ring and go from there.
You could try Powerflex direct (www.powerflex.co.uk) but I don't know if they will sell to you direct.
Regards
