H&R springs
I am considering a suspension upgrade going with Bilstein HD and H&R springs.
What is the difference between the Red and the Green spring.

Red springs are 964 springs which lower the car 40mm, greens are the turbo springs which drop the car by 35mm. Not sure if there is any difference in the spring rates.
You can use either on the 964.

The greens are the 964 springs and the reds are the 965 (turbo) springs. At least according to the ones I got for my 964. My reds PN out as the springs for the turbo. The difference is only in the stiffness of the rears from what I understand, but H&R can be quite mum when it comes to spring weights.
FWIW. I run the HD's and reds on my '90 and I really really like them. It's a daily driver. The only roads I don't enjoy the setupon are the cement sections of highway where the seams are really nasty, then it's a bit tiring. Asphalt highwasy are a DREAM...

The red springs ARE for the turbo and will provide a much stiffer ride compared to the green springs. For daily street use, most of us use the green springs. If you are dedicating your car to the track, you may prefer to use the reds.

Sure thing,,
During my last DE at Moroso I took a ride with my instructor in his 87 Targa that was set up for the track. What a difference his suspension made to the car.. After a few laps I decided it was time to upgrade the suspension on my car. I asked around and Steve at Rennsports systems recommended the combination. It should be great for the daily spirited drive and the occasional DE...

Do a search. There is a thread that gives exact spring rates. The greens are something like 170 pounds working rate vs the reds which are closer to 220. Double check to make sure. The greens will eliminate the expansion joint bump but the reds you will still feel it. The Eibach Pros are closer to the reds working rate but slightly softer progressive.IIRC. I have the Eibachs on my C2 and the reds on my turbo. Either one is a worthwhile upgrade and worth every penny over the factory parts.
If you go with the RS sways be careful. The stiffer front sway will give you tremendous understeer. You will need to run a lot of negative camber and run the front bar full soft and rear full stiff. I also broke my front bushing clamps off because of solid bushings.

Don't want to divert your thread but have been following it and thinking about changing out my OE springs as well and have a question to clear up my state of confusion. (usual state)
I am looking for the "green" springs and am not sure which you are referring to since I can't seem to find any that appear green on the H&R web site.
H&R
Are you referring to the OE Sport or Sport models or are there others that are not listed? I see the Race springs are red.
Thanks

mbb993, I just bought a set of greens from shox.com and the part number is 29813 . Also got a set of Bilstein HDs from them. Not sure if the best price in the US, but they shipped to UK and the price and service was spot on for me. Long live the strong £!!
