964 Cup vs. RS/NGT?

They are basically the same thing. The Cup is a special designation for the cars that were used in the Carrera Cup and Supercup races and they had the racing "Cup" suspension fitted. It is very easy to take an RS/NGT or club sport and convert it to "Cup" specs.

I remember reading that where the 964 cup car engines were pulled from the assembly line and dynoed to make sure they were all equal, the RS engines were built from hand picked parts with the best tolerances. Urban legend perhaps but after 15 years it is kind of a moot point.

Bob,
It has the super go fast 3.8 wing. Need I say more except that you guys got faster after you took the 3.8 wing off and put the stock tail back on. Where is JC in NY to defend me against you cup car guys?

Actually the RS N/GT's are accomplished racecars in their own right - they raced extensively in the BPR Global GT series that was formed after a Mr. B. Ecclestone and Mosley destroyed the World Sportscar Challenge. That's why they have such a huge gas tank (91L) which I made the mistake of filling last time I was at Lime Rock - the car handled just a bit differently that with the usual 5 gallons up front!
