Largest wheel that can fit on a 964? Am I missing something?
I have not been to the board in several months...
...when I was looking at wheels for mine, I had read that 18's were too large for our cars, but now (after being gone a while) I see more and more of you have 18" Porsche wheels on your 964's...
Am I missing something? Did that take any modifications?
Could I put 18" turbo twist or any other 18" OEM Porsche wheels on my 90 Targa?
How wide of a wheel/tire can fit on the front and rear?
Geezzzz, I have some catching up to do!
Like a NEWB all over again

The 18" are fine. I did 8x18 and 10x18, with ETs of 50 and 47. I put 225s on the front and 265 on rears. Perfect fit. No spacers or mods needed. This was for a 92 C2.

Turbo Hubs IIRC are ok, Adrian Streather also had 19"'s on his, though there is a weight issue to take into account, most of us will never get close to the damage experienced by the racers which caused this to go out as a TB, so although YMMV I have 18's on mine and why should you worry??

Carrera Cup cars ran both 17" and 18" wheels during their race careers.

Wheels/Tires
Used 8x17" front and 9.5x17" rear one-piece Cup wheels
Used 8x18" front and 9.5x18" rear three-piece "Speedline for Porsche" wheels
Sizes/Offsets/OEM spacers/PN's have been discussed here in the past; a search should answer any questions.

Doesn't ride quality suffer a little. Maybe that's the wrong way to say it... Won't the ride be stiffer because of the thinner sidewall? Going from 16" rims to 18" would be quite a change I would think. I have 17"s on mine and the ride is a little stiff but I've also got a slightly modded suspension.
