Default new oil cooler not like old

Just got my oil cooler from Porsche, Sunset, and this one does not seem to use the same fittings as the old one. This one does not appear to use aluminum washers underneath the junction fittings into the top of the oil cooler.

Any one else seen this? Did you just use as is?

I just ordered one and installed it from Sunset a couple weeks ago - went on my 94 just fine: just stuck it in, attached the lines and it's a go! The junction fittings (where the lines screw in?) were already installed and painted nicely; are you talking about removing them?

old and new. the new look like they do not use the washers and may now be a pipe fit? maybe I'll clean the fittings and see if there is a really thick washer there.

mystery solved. the new junction fittings have a thicker base than old ones.

Hello Steve,

Are you interested in selling the old cooler?

Reason, I want to experiment to see if I can put a drain fitting in the bottom to ensure a "full" oil change.

Regards,
