Default Oil line Wrenches

For the oil line that goes from the filter to the tank, does anyone know if you need both a 32mm and a 36mm to remove it?

Pelican has a 36mm wrench that says its for a 911 and a 32mm they say is for a 944?

What do I need for a 1990 C2?

You need a 36mm wrench for the oil line and a 32mm wrench for the oil line fitting. If the oil line fitting comes loose or moves slightly, you will need to remove it, clean it, replace the aluminum seal, and reloctite with green loctite and reinstall it. You should never, ever try to remove an oil line without holding both the oil line and the fitting.

There is very little room on the backside of the filter console so the oil line wrenches that Pelican sells are almost impossible to use with an extension/cheater pipe. (BTDT) The wrenches are definitely workable but there is a better option. Your local auto parts store should be able to order Chinese-made crowsfoot wrenches in these sizes for $9 but it may take upto 2 weeks for their distributor to get them.

Thanks guys, I ordered the wrenches from Pelican. So I guess I am going to have the same problem as you Jason. I'll have to take a spin out to the auto parts store to look for crows feet.

hi-- had the same problem in this area-- my solution was to get a couple of cheap open end wrenches, and cut them off and work them over on my grinder until it was workable. it only took a few minutes, but making them shorter and narrower enabled me to get in the area and hold both sides. not very elegant but it worked.---tom
