this is a stupid question, but while looking around in my spare parts during winter projects, i came across a control unit (i think). it is part number 96464133000. this comes up as a central indicator. what does it do??? i have an electrical gremlin with my fuel pump not running that i am trying to track down not related to the relay, and just ran across this. any ideas???

I believe that is what is commonly called the Central Informer. It controls all of the idiot lights within the guages.
