Default fabspeed sport cat replacement

I have a sport muffler(unknown make but sounds good) that has replaced the primary and secondary stock mufflers. I plan to replace the stock cat with a fabspeed SS model. Has anyone installed one. Suppose to be a simple retrofit.
Does the stock catalytic converter heat shield fit the fabspeed or is it not used.

Should I forget about the sport cat and just go with a cat bypass? Some states require a cat converter to renew registrations.

I have a Fabspeed cat bypass and it is an easy 30 min exchange for the stock catalitic converter. The hardest part is getting the O2 sensor out, I used a large cresent wrench after soaking with pb blaster overnight. The stock heat shields dont go back in place. I bolted them back to the cat converter and stored in my attic. The cat bypass saves substantial weight over the stoick cat and the car sounds better(deeper) and revs faster. Good luck.

Ditto. I have a cat bypass and love it. I can also swap back to the original cat if necessary for annual emissions testing in about 30 minutes.

I have cat bypass and secondary bypass with a J pipe and it sounds wonderful especially with a drilled airbox. The cat bypass made it have a deeper sound and gives it a perceived performance increase - seat of the pants acceleration is better. Could be Im just influenced by the wonderful sound but it does seem to rev faster.

That's what I ran with a chip, before I went to a S-Car-Go Header.

That cat bypass in the photo looks exactly like the one I bought used. But it had no brand markings on it. Does yours have any identification on it? Just curious.

The Cat-Bypass is sold, but the J-Pipe Secondary Muffler Bypass is still available.
