For track use I recommend the RH or Speedline since the Veloce is heavier.

Thanks Colin. RH Wheels in the states run approximately $3500. Yes, these are on the high side of my budget. Compared to Speedlines, they are inexpensive. I decided not to pursue the Veloce due to their weight. I will consider the RH Wheels when funds are available.

Um, anyone care to donate a few pounds or dollars, please let me know.

Cheers...

Default Here's the stand at Autosport Engineering 2007

Here you go, the first ever 9m64RS M003 RHD on display in the Engineering section of Autosport International 2007. In front of the car you should also be able to make out a part-built 911 engine - this is actually a customer's 4.0 litre engine that is waiting on the new high lift valve train - we thought that it would be better to show the parts on the engine rather than just in a glass cabinet.

We had a lot of interest in the engine parts from around the world, as well as spending time with one of our Japanese customers who is building a 3.8 993 engine with 9m billet heads & sports cams (which is already making more power on his engine dyno than one of his customer's 993 Supercup engine) we also had other enquiries from Japan, Texas, Norway, Germany, Italy, France & Finland.

Marc looked after the M003 for the two days of the show and also received many favourable comments, we are pretty much certain that we will see at least two orders on the back of the serious interest shown, ironically one customer specifically wanting a LHD built because all the genuine Clubsports that he has looked at have been very tired race cars.

Very nice project Colin, as allways when 9meister is involved. Can you give any details about the dual outlet exhaust?

Best regards

Anders,
As I said in a previous post, the exhaust is a Cargraphic dual outlet for the 964 and it retails for around £750+VAT. We have just fitted this exhaust to another customer's engine which is about to be dyno'd, if I get a chance I will take some more photos and post them up on a seperate thread, OK?

Colin, looks great, nice display. Is that trade show like the PRI show we have here in the States?

Although I have not been to PRI, I would guess that Autosport International is pretty much the same but probably smaller. AI is split into two, there is the main show which is open for 4 days and alongside it is Autosport Engineering which runs for the first two days only.

We shared a stand in the Engineering section with our designer/manufacturers 4 Tech who were there really to meet suppliers and customers for their F1 and other tuning programmes, so as a result we say a lot of trade interest in our engine displays and also had suppliers coming to us to quote for parts manufacture. It was particularly satisfying for me to see suppliers who had dismissed us in the past now looking at our range of parts with envy and asking if they could now quote us! Also, given the links of 4 Tech within the race engine fraternity it was great for me to rub shoulders with a who's who line up of F1, Le Mans, Nascar & Indy engine designers, most of whom were impressed by our Porsche efforts to date.

PS If you look carefully in the background, there is nearly £10,000 worth of 9m billet cylinder heads sat on the floor between the two display cabinets and a £3500 4.0 litre crank on the table in front of the engine.....

Yeah, since we sponsored their callendar this year, Rob organised a few for us to give away. Little did we know that a few would be 8 boxes, so practically everyone who walked past got a free copy. We complained to T911 that the callendar did not feature a 964, word up that next year they will compensate us for our loss.

If anyone wants another copy for their office or garage wall please call in or ask as we still have quite a few left over!

PM sent on the calendar for the garage. I'd love to get to the Glen for the club event, and may just have a way to do that.

Poor guy (or gal). The owner of the engine, I mean, who's going to get his pride and joy all scratched and fingered by a bunch of starry eyed punters.

Are you installing an aluminum hood on the 9m64 RS?

But at least he is happy at seeing proof of its existence.

Mind you, wait till he gets a load of the new DLC coated cam followers, man are they sweet. Oops, dropped into SoCal speak there for a minute - what I really meant to say was that they are spectacular. Weighing in at just 85g against the 964 rocker at 130g, they thus saving a whopping 1/2kg of moving parts from within the engine. Add that to the 400g pistons that drop 1.2kg from stock, the 9m rods that shave another 0.6kg and all of a sudden we have a trend going on.
I'll post details of the high lift cam package as soon as the retainers and springs arrive.

It's entirely up to the customer and all down to price at the end of the day. Our stock of alloy bonnets is now down to none courtesy of a current Speedster build, so I suspect the more popular choice will be a carbon/kevlar alternative as we fitted to the prototype which is half the cost of the Porsche alloy variant.

One aspect that we are going to look into is our own version of a RHD manual rack for all 964 & 993 variants. I think I also read that the LHD rack is no longer available, so if this is the case we may as well look at making a body casting for the LHD as well. More on this later.

That turned out to be a false alarm. Rebuilt LHD manual steering racks are once again available from Porsche.
