This is madness (no offense, Jaime). I just replaced my cross-drilled rears with solid versions and saved $300. Mine's a race car, so aesthetics are sometimes deferred in favor of value but the price for these particular Factory parts, IMHO, is out of whack.

$80/pair DELIVERED--with painted hats!

And that is the value of this forum. Knowing that we can find reasonable alternatives for 80.00 is great!!

Couple more questions, other than new pads and the 993 master cylinder and associated adapters from 9M (assuming I decide to change), do I also require a set of steel brakelines to fit the new front and rear calipers?

Also, what do you mean by swapping the bleed/lines with the 928 calipers?
No need to change the brake lines... but if the ones you have are stock units it is a great time to get new braided ones.

On the bleed/lines... let me try to find a photo to illustrate the change... all you are really doing is moving the hard line in the caliper from where it is to where the bleeders are... swap them. Nothing difficult.

Cool

Hope this helps...

In the 928 the green circle parts are swapped. So all you do is remove the bleeders, remove the hard line and swap their placement.

Just a heads up I have heard of Chinese rotors that have become available for the US market that are dirt cheap but aren't worth a damn. I would verify that these aren't made in China. I also found the Zimmerman rotors do not last half as long as the OE ones.

Thanks, Anthony. I'll put these to the test and report back if there are any issues, i.e. excessive wear or cracking.

In the end, I never bothered fitting the 993 master cylinder/servo - never had any problems as a result, just need to keep an eye on the pads and don't let them wear too far. I also got the adapters from 9M, which needed a little bit of filing to get them to fit properly (just rounding off a corner as I recall). I did replace the hard and flexible brake lines at the time as I managed to damage a couple of them getting the old ones off.
