To answer a few questions, some asked and others not.

1. Her sister is older, married and is the exact opposite of my wife, She weighs 265 lbs, is a polititian for the Green Party and any of you would be welcome to her so long as you live a long way away from me. Biggest downside of going to Oz? She lives there and London was only just far enough away!

2. Yes, my wife has friends but none that are single

3. My wife has read every word of this thread and finds it really funny.

4. She likes the idea of the coffee table but wonders how it will work as she wants to keep the table and therefore I wouldn't be allowed to fit it in the car!!

OK since this has now degraded into husband and wife thread

A month ago we were visiting my brother in law - a little before the kids' bed time, my 4 yr old son and in-law's 3 yr old daughter were mysteriously gone. My wife found them in the girl's bed - and asked what they were doing, to which my son said "we're playing mommy and daddy". OOOKAY. So, my son kept trying to snuggle up next to her, and she kept pulling away, tugging at the blanket saying "no no! night night! night night!" - mommy and daddy - that boy was more correct than he will ever know...

Back to the real topic! this thread has been more help than you would ever believe. It has got us talking about spending large sums of money on my toys and my wife no longer believes that I am the only petrolhead in the world!

Colin, looks like I am on my way (but only one engine )

Just got in from Oulton Park where we have been testing the 4.0 litre engine in a stock RHD 964RS and all I can say is that be grateful that it seldom rains in Oz because the torque of this puppy was inducing snap oversteer coming out of Foulston's chicane at 2500rpm in 3rd!

Back to the plot. Since you have no job to go to, maybe you just need to produce a business plan that makes the cash to pay for the engine, so all we now have to think of are suitable business models that combine some of the common interests of most of the guys on here?

How about these for starters:

Sun, sea, beach, Porsche club = swimsuit edition of Total 911?

Staying on the beach theme, why not negotiate the broadcast rights of the local girl's beach volleyball team's matches and sell DVD's over the internet?

Activity holidays for blokes with bonce - golf, trackday, surfing, beer.....

and a serious one that could be fun:

Rent out bouncy castles & electric go-carts for kids parties.

I too have been at Oulton with Colin & Co all day, and all I can say is..

1. Simon - whatever you need to do, it's worth it!

2. When you work out what it is, can you let me know 'cos I need to do it too...

Rob and Colin

Great to hear the reports of your day at Oulton Park. Oulton in the wet in the autumn driving a car with a lot of power to the rear wheels - only one word for it - SCARY!

Rob, there is only so much my wife will allow and the full 4.0l race engine would probably be only affordable as part of a divorce settlement!! But it does confirm what I already knew - the boy can build engines

What other "toys" were there. I hear my m8 the ginger insurance broker put in an appearance. Colin, you are a bad boy. Jeremy still has a silly grin on his face (allegedly!)

Good to hear that Jezzer is still buzzing!

Also had a nice compliment about the 4.0 964RS from another customer today. On my last session I was driving Mike around on the developing dry line when Rod C, who was there testing his very fast widebody 996GT3 RS-R on slicks, came up behind us through Foulston's chicane and assumed that he would blast us on the straight drag out of the complex. However he immediately suspected that 9m had been playing with the car when we surprised him by matching his speed/acceleration along the straight to the Nickerbrook chicane. I let him go soon after (boy that car is fast - soooo much quicker than a GT3 Cup car) and he gave me the heads-up when I caught up with him in the pits, good of him to say so.

Must also give thanks to the Easytrack team for putting on a no-novice day, albeit at a slightly higher than normal price, it was brilliant to be on a trackday without all the usual numpties.
