I think the 993 in the pic is just plain old silver (well..polar silver or the 'other one' anyway!)

I'm not sure who's this car below belongs to but is it what you had in mind?

Thanks, but no...

I saw a Porsche color card today and the SILVER BLUE is mainly silver, with a light touch of blue

The pic you put here is more light blue as I see

Well sorry I can't help. I don't think your color exists...maybe the colour card was left in the sun!!!

Tough (impossible) to tell in this pic, but the 964 is polar silver (silver with blue) and the Boxster S is arctic silver ("white silver"). Polar silver is one of my favorite Porsche colors.

My turbo was also polar silver:

Perhaps it was an Exclusive programme 'paint to sample' color?

I went through my colour confusion phase as well: the colour names can be a little confusing, since in photos they can sometimes be difficult to distinguish: Crystal Silver, Diamond Blue, Glacier Blue, Horizon Blue, Polar Silver, Silver, and Titanium. Is there anywhere on the net where the differences are presented clearly? Or do I just need to get my eyes checked.....

It would be hard to view color samples on your computer due to monitor color differences, calibration and the way the paint changes in sunlight. There is someone on eBay that sells the original Porsche color samples guides. An example can be found HERE (no affiliation) for $9.99.

the 993tt at the top of this thread is polar silver... i have a polar 993tt and it is identical to my car. Polar is a cool color b/c it look different in various light... everything from blue-silver to blue-gray.
The other silver is artic which is more ordinary and seems more brown-silver.

My car is polar silver - see my avatar. It would look good on a 964!

Cheers,

David

Mine is also a Polar Silver Metallic 964 C4. Rob S is right: depending on the light, it can really change the slight blue tone in it.

I like all of the Silvery hues: from Arctic to Diamond Blue…
