Wd it be pretentious or inappropriate to replace the “Carrera 2” with a "911" badge?

I say no badge, looks clean, especially on dark colours.

I wouldn't mind seeing what the 911 badge looks like on there. I did notice when replacing the Carrera 2 badge on my friend's black 91 that, even after compounding, the outline was still quite visable in the clearcoat. As he was replacing with the same script it didn't matter but i'm not sure how deep into the clear it went. Be a bitch burning through the clear trying to get it out...

I removed my Carrera 4 badge to fit a 911 one.(see pic) I must say I prefered the look of it without anything on but I had allready bought the badge outline of old badge is still visible if you look close but I have not compounded it or anything.

I like it... I would assume the lighter the car color the less noticeable the underlying former script "shadow" would be. My experience was on a black car, guess I would have to pop mine off to see. Worst case scenario is I buff out my hood and reinstall my Carrera 2 emblem with a new finish on it!

Well,

I just had my boot re painted and even though i bought the carrera 2 script to go back on I havent managed to stick it on there. To be honest I quite like the way it looks without a badge. It looks quite clean. I'll try and take a pic. Oh, and it saves a bit of weight and must improve the airflow too ...

I started this thread with my question, and have decided to go with the "911" badge. I am sligtly dyslexic, so I plan to be happy with a "119" or "191." Mind out, I cd invert the "9" and end up driving around in a Porsche "611." Any preferences?

i have a black car with the alloy 30jahre 911 badge .
expensive but i think it looks cool !!!

i might yet stick a black carrera badge under the rear tail . but i'm worried about too many badges !!! every other car i have modified has has badges removed , not added !!

Buy two more "9's" and make it 666.

Unless you really want to make SURE that people know you drive a PORSCHE.

Here's the deal: I have to get my boot painted, and the "2" on the "Carrera 2" badge is already toast. Choices:

1) Just have "Carrera"
2) Buy a new "Carrera 2" badge
3) Have no badge
4) Find a "911" badge (I seem to have seen them somewhere. Help: Where?)

What does the mighty collective taste of the Rennlisters think?

Go with the 911. Looks very cool. I think that is the one from the 40th anniversary edition.
