205 or 225 in front
1990 C2 Targa
7X17 9X17 Cup 1s
What is the best size to go with for tires in front 205 or 225? I have seen people are running both. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to running either size? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am running 225's ('90 C2 Targa). I do have a very slight rub, but not an issue. Mine is lowered too. (Rubs slightly on very hard cornering.)
I like them, and have no issues for street use.

I use 225 (on 17") for my summer street tires and 205 (on 16") for winter tires.
Advantage: The 225's help with the tendancy to understeer, but then so would a fatter rear sway bar (which costs about the same as one tire!).
205's: cost less and dig into the snow more (greater mass per sq. inch of contact area)

Didn't you ask this question in another thread? Anyhow, if you don't lower your car via springs, 225/45 will fit without rubbing. I have mine at ROW height and have no problems.

My C2 is factory lowerede with the sports suspension and I recently fitted 225 in the front. I also had slight rubbing, but I just bought 5mm spacers all around since I wanted to bring them out a little anyway.
I haven't noticed any sideeffects with street use, and on track it has removed the tendency to push the front in tight corners...
Since I use Continental SportContact3 it also has the advantage the 225 is actually cheaper than 205.
By the way the rubbing might not occur on a lowered car depending on the brand of tire, I think Adrian mentions something about this in his book.

Assuming you still have 255's on the rear...
C2 - 205's
C4 - 225's to help reduce the understeer a little.
I wouldn't put 225 on a C2 as it'd increase the likelhood of oversteer!!
