Jack... Glad you finally got it working. The PCMCIA card is tricky at best. I never tried using the correct USB adapter. I had one lying around but I know it didn't have the correct chip in it.

Absolutely... Clear your codes and take a bunch of screen shots. There is a results thread around here somewhere. You can see how your results stack up against others.

Tom... Do you still need the interface? Jack is finished with it and can send it to you if needed. Please PM him if you want it and copy me if you would.

I'd like to get on the list. My airbag light just came on. I'd like to reset it and see what else is going on.

Thanks,

Shawn

I had the airbag light problem the first year I had mine. Reset worked for a short while, but it always came back on. The PO had several receipts showing the dealer had reset the airbag light.

I purchased a Bosch Hammer, a $2000 investment, mostly because it was the only way to reset the light in 2002. I ran a "loaner" program charging a $2000 deposit to cover a complete loss. I still had 3 takers before I sold the tool. The free loaner is a screaming deal. The $160 group buy is also a screaming deal for any C2 owner, as it does everything needed. The price is well within reach of anyone able to afford a 964.

Regarding the airbag light: After several unusuccessful resets, I cleaned the crash sensor connectors near the firewall, and the light has not returned. Four years and still counting.

Do a search. Others have needed to resolder connections on the wiring behind the clock. Particularly if you are only going to have a loaner, it will save a lot of frustration to get after root cause before resetting the light.

Thanks for the info. I know my car has had previous issues with the airbag light. I also noticed the light came on during a bumpy turn. So it's probably a bad connection.

Shawn... Are you still interested in the loaner? Jack just sent it back to me so I'll send my personal one out to you if you need it.

Who has the original loaner now?

I wouldn't mind having a go if it's still available - I got my 964 2 months ago and a quick scan might be useful. I'll PM you.

I would first like to start off by thanking Rick (Smokin) for allowing myself and everyone else access to use his scantool. I have had the loaner and am now finished with it. If anybody else would like it please respond or I will send it back to Rick. Thanks again Rick.

Any possibilities I can be next on the list ? My airbag light just came on last week. Also, I researched the forums on the airbag light issue, and I want to clean the contacts, but I can't seem to locate the sensor ? Maybe it's my eyes.... Any one have a photo ???

You have to introduce your car with pictures in a new thread before you can borrow anything Also it would help to know where you are incase someone local has one and can maybe help you out.
Oh yea welcome

If the diagnostic interface is coming to the UK at some point i'd be grateful for the use of it as well.

Cheers
