Hey all,
The 964 that I am looking at has the following codes..
C02
139
158
340
454
494
I know what all the numbers mean except for 158. I can't find the secret decoder ring for that to tell me what it is. I know the 454 means it's got a Chevy 454 in it....just kidding.
Anyway...I would assume that this Targa is a pretty basic car any opinions?
Did 964 have lots of options available?
It seems that 996 and 997 have a boat load of options available.

That's because a 964 is a hardcore 911 for driving performance so you're lucky it comes with AC and a radio. A high priced 964 RS comes with hardly any options like AC or sliding roof.

My RSA only had two of those four options: 1) Limited slip and 2) air conditioning. I would have been ok with the radio option too (its got an aftermarket stereo now). But thank goodness it didn't come with the sunroof option! I guess the hard core track guys that ordered RSA's only ordered the limited slip and nothing else. That would be a fun car, but not when its 105 degrees F as its been here this summer.

I bought that book late last year in preparation.
I have to agree it is a pretty good book. Lots of insight into the 964 in there.
These Bentley published books are well worth their price, I agree.
I had an E36 BMW and I had a Bentley manual for that and that was pretty good too.
