What about all the stalling issues, Who wants to stall every time you come to a stop. I here the 964's don't chip as well as the 3.2's. The cup car is a race car so stalling is not an issue. How is the cup car chip for the street. Are the stalling issues caused by the LWF , not the chip?

Stallling issues are not caused by the chip - they are caused by LWF, and in fact some chips help reduce / fix the stalling.

I had a chip, didn't notice a difference and had it removed. However - I guess they are all different so maybe some make more difference than others.

So lets go back to which chips to use... What is the difference between Steve Wong chips ( I know 30 miles after install the car is hungry again..), Autothority, Rennspeed, etc...

"So lets go back to which chips to use... What is the difference "

They're all basically the same in that they just "push" the ignition timing
beyond what Porsche/Bosch considered acceptable to prevent engine damage.
The 964 with its knock sensor system optimizes the ignition timing to allow
for max safe ignition advance under various conditions, e.g. engine temps,
loads, and/or fuel grades.

Bottom line: Porsche/Bosch weren't capable of properly tuning for
max performance? Please! Read the MANY Rennlist threads and then
take a DE class. You'll get a better return on your money.

The Camshaft is going to determine the power range of the engine and with stock cams, your peak power is at 6400rpm and there is no need to push the engine past 7000rpm.

If it were me, I would forgo any aftermarket chip and get a factory euro cup car chip. If you could do live remapping on a load bearing dyno, that would be a different story...
Geoffrey,

Where does one purchase a factroy "Euro Cup" chip for a 964 DME?
