Sorry for the dumb question
I guess you guys don't respond to dumb newbe questions. I didn't have time to search the forums and had hope to order tires Fri so to be ready for a local track day coming up. I gather the 225/45/17 size should fit my 93 with no rubbing issues.
All questions get answered, has been my experience and usually pdq. There is a complete lack of condescension towards newcomers that makes it a very welcoming place for newcomers and those with 'syndromes'!!
hmm, fresh meat...(kidding...)
I run 235's in the front of my rsa for the track, but I have rolled fenders and a pretty agressive suspension, I don't get rubbing but as you throw off marbles it tends to "clean" the inside of the chassis. It also really depends on the tire manufacture, the profile at the shoulder of the tire varies wildy. did you have a thought as to which mfgr you were looking at? stock rims?

I run 225x17's Michelin Cups up front and 255's in back.
As always wheel offset has alot to do with what will work front and rear. Stock is 52mm offset front and rear, until you get into 9"-9.5"-10" wide rear rims where 47mm is the better target offset.

I wasn''t ignoring you either, I just did not know the answer.
I have 205's on my 17" rims and they rubbed until I got the updated spacers installed, now they don't.
I have not run 225-17's so can't answer you.

Lorne,
If you are running correct offset rims, 225s will rub on full lock .Thats why the lock stops were used on the RS.
Problem is , with power steering , you wont feel a thing !
The amount of rub will depend on front end Geometry . Some people fit front wheel spacers, others use the factory lock stops .
I have the stops on mine.
Good luck with your DE day.

Also depends on whether the car is lowered or not whether there will be rub on the fender lip. That said, I have run 225 and 255x17 on my lowered C4, I used 3mm spacers on the rear to prevent rubbing on the oil line on the right hand side of the car. I did have rubbing at full lock in the front but the upgraded steering stops should prevent that if you are concerned.

To my knowledge all 964 front fenders are rolled from the factory. My car is lowered while useing the stock shocks, I understand the PSS9's are to stiff for the street. I'm Installing falken azenis and they do tend to run wide.
Thanks for the info
I hope to have some wider wheels in the near future , mean while I want to enjoy some sticky tires.
