Default Binding noise while steering at low speed?

Ok, now I am waiting to replace the brake pads with Metal Masters and Pelican has taken two weeks to deliver....

Anyway, now I am finding a low binding/rubbing noise while turning the wheel at low speeds.... Sounds like it is coming from the wheels....

What now?????

Take your significant other to an empty parking lot, have her walk beside the car or have her drive, and turn the wheel to and fro ( is "fro" a word? you know what I mean). Some noises become very distinctive only from outside the car, while at the same time muffled and indeterminate from inside the car.

Just go to any local foreign car or Pepboys type place and you can buy the Metal Masters and not pay shipping probably for the same price or less.

Last October I heard a noise when turning the wheel at low speeds (rubbing/binding). I even felt is slightly in the steering wheel. At first I thought it was my imagination, a few weeks later it became more obvious. I broke the first rule of Porsche ownership, get things looked at right away, because the longer you let it go the more expensive it is to fix.

The bolt stripped out of the helicoil and my steering column started rubbing on the power steering line. I replaced the power steering hose, helicoil and bolt. I suggest getting it professionally looked at.

Filling the power steering fluid fixed my noise when turning.I had a loose hose with a leak.Tighting up the hose fixed my"oil leak".The sound is not the typical low fluid sound of other cars.

I would've guess low power steering fluid, too. A bad strut bearing usually manifests itself as a clunking noise when turning. One thing that's rarely done in routine maintenance is changing the power steering fluid. Highly suggested. Just compare the color of the stuff that's in the PS reservoir with new and you'll see what I mean.
