Thanks for the reply Marc, I'll add Euro RS to the write up, this is exactly why I wanted peer review, helps me get the nitty gritty correct.

Jeff, most pics show if I click on the link-box thingy (with the red x).

Some don't, like the measuring point pics.

I assumed the problem was on my end since microsoft firewall crap has been giving me fits lately.

OR
R: 235 mm +/- 5 mm "From road contact surface to meas. point at outer control arm mount (mm) (body side)* Use this measuring point, if it is available"

So I'm not sure where the 218 came from (it is not RS + 5 mm as suggested).

Marc, I was referring to RS (ROW) ride height (at control arm) specs out of Adrian's book. I'll admit I am now thoroughly confused on the measuring points and what #s go with each.
Situation normal.

There is a thread from last summer with photos of the factory measuring points but I can't find it or the rear photo I took. If pipex can't get their act together with Kevin's photos I can shoot some photos of the rear measuring point again.

Thanks Jason, the above photo helped no end when I was doing my suspension a while ago.

Hi Jason,

Would you mind shooting that picture of the rear suspension measuring point? I'm just setting the ride height formy car but I am finding it awkward to access the correct points.

Thanks.

I'm just a simple guy - I made a simple gizmo to easily measure the ride height that maybe everyone already knows about. I will post a picture as soon as I get my camera unpacked.
I used a short piece of 3/8" ID tubing (about 115mm long) and slipped a 120mm piece of 3/8" all-thread with a nut inside the tubing. Just stick it under the car at the measuring point, turn the nut to extend the length of the overall assembly til it touches the measuring point and the ground. Pull it out and measure the overall length. Use a longer piece of all-thread for measuring the rear points. The pictures will make it more simple/obvious, but you guys should get the idea. No need to be a contortionist and try squinting under the car.
I discovered that my car was set at near the RS specs, slightly under. I think it was actually hitting the stock bump stops, explaining the harsh ride with the H&R red Turbos. The Bilsteins have let me raise it a bit, although I'm not finished with it yet. (I just moved out of my house, and I can't find any of my shtuff.)

from the workshop manuals...Measure the distance from the point of wheel/floor contact to the body end measuring surface on the outer arm mount. Some cars do not have this measuring surface. In such cases the cast boss on the rear axle arm must be used as a measuring point.

The "cast boss" should be about a 12mm lower than the "body end measuring surface."

Resurrecting an old thread… Question on this measuring point for front ride height… is it from the bottom of the nut to the ground? Thanks.

yes, a simple turnbuckle and screw arrangement works fine for this
