Removal of the Dash - revisited

Removal of the Dash - revisited
I did a search and found how to remove the dash but just to make sure I didn't miss anything..here's one question:
All of the instructions state that after removing all of the screws and the 10mm nut behind the clock, I should be able to lift up the dash. But it looks like the center vent is also attached to the top part of the dash. Is there an extra step I am missing to get the vent off or does the vent snap off of the dash some how?
It looks striaght forward and I will no doubt figure it out when I do it this weekend but if you have any tips, please let me know.
Thanks...

IIRC The centre vent can stay in situ when removing the dash pad. In fact trying to lever it out could damage the pad. When the pad is off push the vent out from behind. When refiitng, fit the dash pad first, then insert the vent. It just slots into a plastic ducting. The 10mm nut behind the clock is a 'bit of a pain'.

Is removing and re-installing the upper dash pad a big tough angry job with lots of swearing?
Or is it a simple, peaceful happy-smiley cookies and ice cream job?
Anyone have a link to instructions / DIY?

Remember that the centre vent has two serrated metal grips that need to be unclipped before you push or pull the vent from the dash. They are visible if you look through the slats on the top side. Use a small screwdriver to press them towards the back of the dash, and down, to release the teeth. They are not bonded very well to the plastic vent and can snap off; though re-gluing works fine if they do.
