I heard from Andy. He said 5.5 pounds to ship to the US. He also said that his new shopping cart software doesn't allow orders to be placed when an item is out of stock. He'll try to fix it, but didn't know if he could.

Which RossTech interface is it? I think that only the early opto-isolated or "dumb" ones will work. I have a "hex+can" & that does not work.

Yeah i think i do have the opto isolated one.

I'm not trying to be daft here, it does say optically isolated. Could you take a look at that link and see if thats what you mean?

Heirsh, yes I think that VagCom interface will probably work. I have a VWTool interface from about the same time & that works with Dougs software & earlier VagCom software.
I use a 2x2 adaptor for older cars with pins for the 19 way socket instead of the VW ones to save cutting the OBDII plug off.

This Scantool program, is this the same that can be downloaded here http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/download.htm or do you have a different version?
If so, wher can I obtain it?

Excellent. I'll have to play with it this weekend. Love being able to connect to my VW. This is awesome.

Try reading through the whole thread................hint.

Seriously, either PNcarreras or Myself or DougB will be happy to pass on the software.
The software is 964 specific and is afaik not quite the same as other scan tool software. Porsches version of obd-1 iso 941-1 is I believe very similar but not the same as an earlier vw protocol.

What happened with the group buy on the connectors? Did we get one going?

So far no one has expressed an interest in the group buy as far as i'm aware. The offer still stands though. It requires five rennlisters to put there order forward at a time to get the discount.

Big thanks to Doug, Laurence and PNC for the software programming, forwarding and question answering. I got mine working and it is so nice to be able to check the temp signals and fault codes.

My ISO-COM Optical interface from Ross-Tech works flawlessly. The only thing that took any time at all was the research to make sure I was using the right pins where.

Again, thank you all. To have this level of diagnostics is wonderful!

I'm not (yet) a Rennlist "member", but I'm certainly interested in the connector group buy - assuming we're talking about the 19 pin diagnostic connector. Sticking individual pins into the socket may be an inexpensive and simple solution, but its hard to reach and dark down there by the kick panel, and a pin in the wrong socket could be bad news, or at least frustrating. I'd rather have the reassurance of a proper connector.
