i have a mcintosh 406 for sale .
plus i have a mcintosh 431 for sale .
the 431 will do 4/3/2 channels , so will do most applications , and will fit the 911 trunk no problem .

i've fitted cdt carbon-fibres in 2 of my sisters rides , and they're a very , very , very cool speaker for the mony !!!

I've been happy with my MB Quart tweeters and 6 1/2" mids, along with my 8" RF subwoofers.

Gary... As I was reading this thread I was thinking of something similar to the photo above. If you do not want to alter the interior you coud always add a removable speaker enclosure that sits on the rear seat shelf. Then you could fabricate basically anything you want. You could probably even hide your amp inside it. It could be custom built to make it look like it belongs there.

Lots of great info here isn't there! I think my current problem is that the stock speakers are being over-driven by my 50W per channel stereo. If the car is off, and the volume is fairly low (I think it puts out 20W +/- minimum) it actually sounds pretty good. Crank it up and things start going wrong... horribly wrong..

indycam : thank you , you got mail !!

gary r : most probobly the weak amp in the head-unit clipping the speakers because the power is no good !!! worth trying another speaker wired in temporary , before you buy new

gene : i want about £375.00 for it . you have a better chance of buying one in the usa , and maybe save money , but if youre interested i can ship .

Surprisingly, that's not such a high price, even though Yank stuff tends to be horribly expensive on yr. side of the pond. Used ones run about $600 [£345] on fleabay over here, and usually one shows up every couple of weeks. Let me contemplate it and get back to you - we get to the UK at least once a year (we belong to a Bonfire Society in Lewes) so I can have you ship it 'locally' and I'd bring it back in my luggage. As it is, I usually am bringing stuff over for friends every time we come.

Thanks!

I love the Focals in the front FWIW. Speaking of which - anybody have their old tweeters from the front doors? I need one to cut out the grill holder and attach my Focals. Mine got mysteriously trashed when doing the project ;-(

Thanks in advance for any help.
