Default Uh oh......damage....

Just to share that I am visiting a friend in Denmark and yesterday her father comes in and tells me that he wants to show me something.....so I go outside into the courtyard and he shows me that he has managed to reverse into my car door. The dent and scrapes are like almost the length of the door. So I look at his car as I am expecting from the length of the dent that he has hit me almost straight on...but no....only the corner of his bumber has hit, which means he has obviously hit and then gone another 18 inches at least before reacting.....ha ha ha...for f**** sake....ha ha. So now I am going into the local town to see what we can do to fix it......sigh.....I will get a photo sorted out if I can, just so you can see how slow his reaction time must have been..... Ahhhh, the joy of Porsche ownership!

p.s. It should be noted that he is over 70 yeaqrs old so.....I guess that is a mitigating factor......

Unbelievable. I was going to text you today to see if you were still in Denmark - I guess you are, although possibly wishing you weren't right now!

I don't suppose you can get your pink wing repainted as part of the repair (which I assume he'll pay for?).

Hey Christer...
Have you ever wished that these unfortunate happenings were in fact only a bad dream...
And that in fact, it's only 03:00 and the alarm is set for 06:00...
Well who knows, maybe you’ll wake-up in a short while, shake your head and say...

"W T F was that all about!!.. Phew, no-more late night rock’n rolling for me!!"..

I hope so Christer, stranger things have happened before...

From over the rainbow,
Marc...

PS. If true... Sorry to read about it...

Hi Christer,

I am truly sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds as if your friend's dad is a tad clumsy...

As a fellow Dane, I feel somewhat guilty. Following recent fashion, you may consider venting your frustration by torching a Danish embassy. If you can find one still standing, that is....

Take care,

Jens

Christer... Sorry to hear about this. I feel your pain! I can remember when my first Porsche was hit. I had parked it by the side of a building. (I was in a legal spot!) A delivery truck was backing up and didn't see it. He backed into the right front fender and crushed the headlight cup. I argued with the insurance company that they needed to respray the entire front end (getting rid of the stone chips in the process) because that was the only way that the paint would match. I was able to have it resprayed by a local guy who specializes in BMW, VW and Porsche paintwork. If your front end needs a respray... Now is the time to go after the guy's insurance comapany.

At least in the US (In my past experience and a few friends of mine) they will allow you a little leeway because it is considered an exotic car.

I hope everything works out as well as possible! Please keep us posted.

Be happy that it is only the door. A new skin and some paint and she will be good as new!

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Marc
p.s. Kris - I envision Christer as a tall, blonde Nordic type (Dolph Ludgren?).
