Spoiler deployment speed adjustment

I agree with Don. In order to extend the life of the spoiler mechanism, I always manually raise the thing once the car is running. When I am finished driving for the day, I manually lower it. If I am making stops along the way, I just leave it up to assist with engine cooling while shut down.

Gents,
I contacted Loren at www.systemsc.com re: modifying the controller to change the speed(s) for spoiler extension and/or retraction. He charges $150 for the work and the owner needs to confirm the speed at which it activates, (stock is 80km/h 'up' & 15km/h 'down') and choose new speed(s). For 3 or more orders, the price drops to $110.
FYI, Ruf says their box uses "approx" 120km/h 'up' (74.4mph) and 70 km/h 'down'. The factory, correct me if I'm wrong, uses the same 'up' speed, but 60kp/h (37.2mph) 'down' for 996 and newer cars.
I will be out of pocket for about a week, but will look into making arrangements to have mine done when I return. If anyone gives it a go before then, please post your progress.
Cheers
Roland

I'm in for a group buy for this mod. I'd likely do this anyway but if anyone else wants to join up, we can all save a few bucks.
Anyone else?

Frankvan,
Just wire a switch in parallel with the one in the rear. A good mounting point for the 89-90 cars is in the headlight aim blank near the key. You would wire in pins 9,10,11. See this post for a diagram

I finally got around to sending my spoiler controller to Loren last week. He was able to reset the speeds to:
deploy: 120kph (74.4mph)
retract: 55kph (34.1mph)
I had requested 70kph (43.4mph) for the retract speed only because this is what Ruf sets on their $400 boxes. Per Loren, the 55kph retract speed is the result of raising the deploy speed to 120kph while maintaining the stock speed differential. Anyway, 55kph (34.1mph) for retract works great. He also gave me the group buy price of $110 plus shipping.
As a note, he can only reset the controller boxes with a 911 part #. The later 964 part #s (used on 964s & 993s) are apparently digital and cannot be reset as easily.
Cheers
