My two cents:

I've learned the following from ebay:

1. Most cars sell for less, as there's usually the "Unknown" factor playing into account (unknown seller, history often missing, why are they selling on ebay?).
2. Not sure what the market is in the UK, but I purchased my C2 w/ 70k miles, records, etc here for $17k USD.
3. On eBay, you need to start low, with or without reserve. Odds are, you'll get slightly below what you'd get for it locally, but you'll sell it quickly and with little hassle.
3. I think you guys hit the nail on the head with the spring deal. From guitars to cars, prices seem to creap slightly.

A would be buyer should be only too fortunate to come across on honest Porsche 911/964, that is well known and driven by a respected member of this forum. With all of the mysteries of used cars on the Porsche market, how reassuring it should be to someone knowing that Dave’s 911/964 is a legitimate offer... A real Porsche...

The starting bid for the car and bike are the minimum I'll accept.

When it was on before for a few days, I started at £7.5K with a reserve. In 3 days I had 40 watchers, but no bids.

Altbhough I agree - it's possible I could get more - I would like to sell now, and there are 3 things counting against it :

1) The time of year - just after Christmas
2) It's white
3) Although it had a top end rebuild, most people see "165k miles" and lose interest.

I do think the car is worth more like £15K. But to be honest - I would rather sell it now for £13K than spend months advertising it to get £15K.

I watched an auction from euro land , vw syncro van , beautifull photos , beautifull copy / ad . Sold for much much much more than others . The photographer took the van out to the most beautifull spot in the world and took photos that were of international big buget ad agency quality . Turned the van around so that the side being photographed was all lit up . No houses in the background , no cars in the background , just beatifull hills and sky . Made the van look like a million bucks . A dream of an ad .

It is on rennlist.

Anyway - auction ended. Only the 1 bid. If he's genuine, he just bought a bargain.

Are you asking for a deposit via Paypal Dave and sale within 1 week?

Again I would really appreciate you keeping me posted on how the sale goes

I didn't ask for a paypal deposit. I have his contact details, but have just sent him the email invoice and will see whether he replies over the weekend. If I don't hear from him by Monday I'll call him and arrange what is happening. If he doesn't commit to a date then, it will go back for sale - and if he doesn't come on the date we agree it will go back for sale.

Will let you know what happens.

Phew... Go chill with your girlfriend from Cannes. Have a nice dinner, you deserve it...
BTW, you can tell, sorry I don’t know her name, that it’s freezing cold, windy (100 km/hr) and non stop rain here...
Stay warm and enjoy some TLC...
From here, Marc

PS.That was my first eBay, thanks...
