"If he doesn't commit to a date then, it will go back for sale - and if he doesn't come on the date we agree it will go back for sale."
Last I looked , the ebay rules say he has 30 days to pay for it .

I think you can set your own time scales but as Dave hadn't mentioned this in the ad it may be a default time scale set by Ebay etc.

When you sign up for ebay , you sign on to ebay rules , you can not make up new rules that go away from ebays rules . People try to make up new rules , but it does not have the backing of ebay when they do new rules . So if you put in a complaint to ebay that the money has not been sent , ebay will maybe say , wait 30 days then send a complaint .

Didn't know that Indy, but there are a lot of ebay sales with 'Payment must be recived within 7 or 14 days' etc.

I wouldn't want to be waiting 30 days for payment on anything I sell, but deffinatly something as expensive as a car or bike.

So when/if I sell on ebay it will say 'Payment within 7 days' regardless of the ebay rules.

Last offer was declined but it doesnt show how much.

It must still be for sale unless a deal was done out side of ebay.

I defently cant do it now as the inland revenue caught up with me on friday with an eye watering bill!

May also have to sell the 964 to make payment, hence my interest in Daves sale!

I will check the ebay rules - but I have to say that if he says he's not planning on collecting the car for 30 days then I ill doubt he is a serious buyer. Also, if he tells me when he's going to collect it and then doesn't turn up, that would seem to indicate he isn't serious.

Anyway - we'll see. Regardless of how long ebay says he has to pay I don't think it's unreasonable that I want to hear from him by Monday. The ebay rules also say he is committed to buying it now.

I believe you can file an unpaid item dispute after 7 days. eBay policy states, "Usually the seller must wait 7 days after a listing closes to file an Unpaid Item dispute."

Dave I had a look at his feedback and it looked oK, but the most of the items are small in his recent history.

Don't second guess him, assume its all cool and he is a genuine bidder, will collect and will pay. If your going to make ****e up then make good ****e up, it feels better!

I'm sure it will be fine, as you say hes got a bargin. If it was me I'd have been watching that sale like a hawk and be round the next day or so for collection.

Stay cool Dave until you know otherwise

I think 13K is a bargain - I know how much you spent on it As long as you are happy though then thats the main thing!

Yeah - at the moment I'm fine with it. Will wait and see what happens. It is an absolute bargain - as Christer says, I've spent plenty on it. Sadly - probably almost as much as he has, but his is a lot faster.....

Bike auction ends up tomorrow - lets see if that goes............

"I believe you can file an unpaid item dispute after 7 days."
Yup , but ebay will give the buyer some time to make the payment , so they will not do much untill some time has past , I think 30ish days .
The buyer of this 964 should get his car asap . He got a deal , he should imho get his tail in gear and grab it .

We'll be around for a while.

Now that it's happened (he mailed me overnight saying he is serious, he's just waiting for the money from his flat to clear), I'm not feeling quite as happy about it as I expected.

We'll see how long I last without a 911 after all......
