- purchase price: $58,350
- purchase date: 08.30.2017
- mileage: 51,800
- state or country where purchased: MA, USA
- Model year: 1993
- C2 or C4: C2
- Coupe, targa or cab: Coupe
- color: Midnight blue metallic/Cashmere beige
- tip or manual: Manual
- NA or turbo: NA
- any aftermarket accessories that came with the car: 18" BBS e88 (500 miles), Bilstien HD/H&R springs (2,000 miles), Cup pipe, Steve Wong chip, Battery kill switch, Flat6Illumination HID projector headlights, old Pioneer headunit and Inifinity crossover speakers, and extra set of 17" Kinesis Supercup wheels
- did the vehicle come with tool kit: Yes
- did the vehicle come with tire inflator kit: Yes
- your assessment of the vehicle history in terms of paperwork/receipts: 6 Only a few recipts from original owner but have a big folder since 2007. Do know about it's history since new though.
- your assessment of the interior quality: 8 because there are few cracks in the dash due to sitting outside undriven for a year. The rest of the interior looks great and everything works, seats were reupholstered 500 miles ago and gauges were refaced.
- your assessment of the exterior quality: 7.5 due to having a glass out respray in 2008 so not original. Other than that, car looks great and has brand new headlights/tail lights/center reflector and wheels/tires. There are a few minor chips but no dents or scratches and no detectable rust.
- your assessment of the mechanical condition of the vehicle: 8.5 Engine out service at 30k miles including top end rebuild/new clutch/seals etc. $24k in service/parts receipts within the last 5 years.. Everything works, trans/clutch feel great and engine is strong with no drips but the shifter does feel a little sloppy.
The 2nd owner was a Rennlist member and posted this car for sale back in 2008 - it tells a lot about the car: https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...-my-93-c2.html
The car was exceptionally maintained by the 3rd and 4th owner and serviced annually by Rennwerke and Musante Motorsports. It was driven ~1500 miles/yr the past 10 years and a lot of items got sorted along the way. It was hard to put a value on the car due to the respray but I was able to speak with the 2nd and 3rd owners and felt confident it was a good car.
4th owner is also a Rennlister and he reached out to my WTB ad. I feel very lucky that he reached out when he did as I searched for months and was ready to give up. Very honest and patient seller - we talked for almost 4 weeks while I gathered more information. We settled on a price, payment was made and I drove it 6 hours straight home without any problems. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase and have put about 1000 happy miles on her. I'm coming from an F80 M3 and couldn't be happier with the switch. These cars are special and it's exactly what I was looking for.
Also want to thank Rennlist - both for being an amazing resource and the awesome members. I was happy to buy it from a member (who still owns a 90 race car) but also used the forum to track down the previous owners. They were both kind enough to reply and answer any questions I had about the car.

Hi guys,
I just bought a 964 and thought I would provide an additional data point. Below are the details. I am pretty happy with the purchase, mostly because it is somewhat rare to find late generation 964 and because I had a good feeling with the previous owner. He was not an enthusiast per se but took good care of the car and kept it 15+ years. Right now it mostly needs a proper detailing (and that's coming) and some suspension work in the future. I also have deleted the rear-seat delete and need to install rear seats.
Note that it needed a new soft top. It was pricey but at least, well, it's new
Purchase price: $39k

@964TurboChas: I bought the silver 964 next to yours on that showroom photo, I looked at the C2 but it was a tad bit outside my budget so your car was almost my car. but the silver C4 is perfect. I stared at it for 3 months I was wondering why no one picked it up but the guy wanted $72K initially it was a hard bargaining process. 6 degrees of separation, enjoy beautiful car yours (and mine too)...
