It was sitting for 7 years due to health issues and when I purchased they were only worth 30K so I assumed the worst. Several people looked and wanted it to go for a serious inspection. I made my offer on an as is basis and I got it. Three months the value doubled, even if it need an engine, which it ended up not needing. 80K On my way! the cluck. Near perfect interior and a mainlanders folder that I did not know existed with the original RS America script new and never installed included.

well, this will change all across the board. Soon enough, regardless Singer, rwb, billy bob restorations and "demand vs. supplier" preachers, economy dictates at the end. The big picture does not look good. My predictions:
-Very low mileage, original paint, great service history, cherry cars will somewhat maintain their values with the least hit. However this kool aid drinkers with paint all over their cars, leaking motors (and no they all do not leak, only neglected ones leak) with 100k+ miles on the odometer with worn out carpet and leather will be having difficulties asking $50k for an old beat up 20+ years old Porsche. Every fairy tail comes to an end.
Exotic market is already quite. There is a lot of change in hands among dealers and collectors. Some people are liquidating some their inventory at lost.
Are we ever going to see a sub 50k 964 in high teens? Nope. But if you are thinking about selling your car with issues, get rid of it while you can. Otherwise you will be back at square one.

The people with deep pockets aren't impacted by the economy and still seem to be buying up what they feel is a quality "needs nothing" car.
No doubt the more negative attitude will spread as others try to push the market down so they can actually afford the crap.
No doubt there were a lot of people that got into the market thinking they will make a fortune which is always a mistake. These cars are meant to be in the hands of enthusiasts and not speculators. The fact is the enthusiast has shown they aren't willing to part with their pristine examples and the boutique shops that gobbled up all they could find is stuck with a lot of crap they overpaid for and sold off all the quality cars. There are a ton of them all over the internet.
