Just an update. Added the rear wiper and use it nearly every morning in the winter to remove the frosted dew.

you can not remove the wiring as it feeds the brake light and the rear defrost, but you could replace with harness without rear wiper wires

I have that harness you could swap in and send me the other.

The rear wiper is the most pointless thing ever fitted to a 64!

Why do u need to use a rear wiper?
It clears very little, when u r goin forward water will not land on or gather on the glass, and u have allready been there!
Theres no need 4 it, most cars dont have one, and if they do they dont get used.
A porsche defo dont need it, thats why new ones dont have em!
Rear wipes aint my thing, thats why mine dosnt have one.
