Default Good source on Silver Chrome/Amber bulbs

I recently swapped my amber turn signal lenses for clear (looks much better BTW) and was going to mail order some of those silver bulbs. Prices I had seen were like $12-20... seems crazy for a bulb.

Just ran across this supplier (no affiliation): http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

Scroll about 3/4 of the way down the not-very-well-designed web page and you will find Silver Chrome 1157 bulbs in amber (and other colors).

$2.99 each! I just ordered a few.

Thought I'd share...

Mark

Mark; I ordered from them and have had NO problems. Great price, so I ordered extras to save on shipping.

I got my side marker lights from them also, using the clear/amber LED ones..

Ebay is also a good source... But you may want to try one of your local auto stores... I've gotten them from both in the past.

The turn signal bulbs are "Silver Chrome 1157 bulbs in amber"

Anyone have the numerical id for the parking light bulbs?

I've put clear corners on and would like to have these silver/amber bulbs for the parking lights, as well.

thanks,
Dave

Why do I see a price of $24.99? Am I looking at the wrong bulb?

Must be looking at the wrong bulb . . . click on the 194 link (2nd row, 1st entry) and then scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page. There is a "Silver Chrome / Amber" bulb for $2.99. Likewise, the 1157 is $2.99 each.

I just bought mine from the same guy. Only problem is that the 1157 color did not match the 194 color with the parking lights on. So I e-mailed Chris who runs the business and he said to send back the bulbs that did not match and one of the color I wanted and he would match them up for me.

Well, what I got back did not match either? I guess I am being to picky but the new clear lens' just don't look right to me with mis-matched bulbs. For now I give up.

I've been looking at my own new clear corners with chrome orange bulbs and the mismatched "silver" looking interiors of each of the lenses (fog, blinker, parking, bumperette replacement) and wondering if I will get used to these new "colors".

However, when I think about a little differently, every pic of clear corner cars that I ever seen on this forum look great! And, there is simply no comparison to the black bumperette with orange corners. I think that I, for one, am being too criticle and feel that I will love this mod every time I see it.

Just another perspective for those who have been unhappy with the clear/silver shade combinations.

Cheers,
Dave

I drive my car primarily on the track. I have noticed when behind a 964 at the track .. the brake lights are not very bright. Has anyone tried anything brighter ... like maybe the LED type lights? Seems like it would make sense ... I know my brake lights are tough to see when there is alot of sunlight.
