Marc,
When you get to the oil level sender be CAREFUL.Whole thing is held with 4 little nuts . Top two hold the shield plate. With the shield off, take a good look at the rusted mess that could be lurking underneath. Trick is to get the rusty carrier plate off the studs without getting a load of rust in the oil tank !!!!!!!!

Slowly, slowly is the approach with plenty of patience.
Good luck with all the other stuff . Titanium back plates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You are taking this modification stuff very seriously !!

All the best

Geoff

Thanks for the tip on the oil sender, Geoff.

Hey - at least the car will be fast, even if I am not.

Marc,

Thanks for the tip on Speed 5's. They look to be a good alternative to my sport seats but, as yet, haven't been able to find a weight. The Mark V's were my first choice for wheels until a local PCA member showed up with them on his black RSA. They look stunning, but I dislike looking like a "me too", so am a little hesitant to move forward in this regard. I may cave in.

Question A question for the more experienced than I.

I've been giving it some thought - any value to replacing the valve cover and gasket while I have that area all apart? I see no leaks as yet but wonder if that might be good preventative maintenance.

Any thoughts?

Thanks. Marc

The valve cover gaskets are changed after every valve adjustment so its not really necessary.

I managed to get a few jobs done in between cursing at my cat. bolts.

I updated my initial post (job list) and have a few things off it.

Anyone else making any progress?

Default Infinity Reference Speakers

Marc;
My next project is to replace front and rear speakers, and my current leading contenders are Infinity Reference 6010cs components for the front and Infinity Reference 6412cfp plates in the rear. Are these perhaps what you installed and what is your verdict after a couple of months with them?
Does anyone else have experience with these speakers?
Thanks,

My winter project is to ensure cash-flow for fuel. I think I am getting around 230-275 miles per tank these days.....(thats no long trips though....)

On short trips, I only ever got about 220 miles per tank - maybe 150 miles more on long trips. But I guess my tank is smaller than yours.

I'm waiting on my Motive Bleeder to arrive from Pelican and then I'll be doing my first brake/clutch bleed.
