When will rear reflector bulb be turned on?
Hi,
I got my 91 C2 two weeks ago.
First, thank Adrian for his book and suggestions on this message board helped me fixed rear blower always on problem (the two pins of rear black relay shorted) and manual mode of switch for rear spoiler didn't work (the connector of control unit under passenger dash not good).
Second thank everyone on this great message board exchanges idears. I got confidence to fix any problem on the car.
I replaced brake light switch. Then I found that rear reflector
bulb never turned on when I depressed the brake peddle or turned on headlight. The bulbs seem good, connector is ok. When will rear reflector
bulbs be turned on? Any ideas?
Thanks,
cxiaoga

Welcome on your firstpost. The rear reflector doesnt have bulbs in it to turn on unless you have one that has been changed somehow. You do know pictures of your car are required

The bulbs on each side of the rear reflector with connector wire from right side
of the rear fence. I turned on the front fog lights and the rear reflector bulbs
didn't turn on either. I will take a picture for this later.
It seems that it has all of the issues mentioned here - break light not on(swtch changed), tires crack(replaced),
rear blower problem(fixed), rear spoiler manual mode not work(fixed), oil leak on valve cover, timing chain cover, timing chain tensioner,
camshaft o-ring and seal for power steering pump, passenger side front oil leak, crack and pink color on rear reflector and two tail lights. With your help
on this board I belive I can fix all of them. This car only run 11k miles since 1999. It looks like it hasn't run for a while. The driving feeling is total different
from sedan. It reaches 80mph just a click. This baby changed my driving style.
Even on my Maxima I try to drive faster like on C2.
I couldn't upload the pictures. It shows that the limit for upload is only 147KB.
Each of my pictures files is 1.2MB. I will try later.
Thanks,

Sounds like a UK car. Try the rear fog switch with the front fogs on.Sounds like you should get an owners manual to figure out the swiches !!

The center reflector lights go on when you put the car in reverse. (In the USA)
I am 100% positive about this on my 1992 C2. I spent 5 minutes fussing around before I realized this after changing to a new panel. (My old panel was cracked)

The outer edges to the left and right will light up (should light up) when you put your car in reverse. The center part does not light up... At least mine doesn't... There aren't any bulbs there.
If you look at the center reflector you can see what I mean. The outer corners have a more silver appearance.

My Canada car is like Rick's - just the edges light up in reverse. I swapped out the centre reflector a few months ago and, while there are molded spots to hold bulbs, there are no sockets there nor bulbs (extra sockets are likely for European spec. rear fogs).
