Default Is this the correct O2 Sensor part?

N-606-126-01
Oxygen Sensor (grommet not included), 911 Carrera 2/4 (1989-94), 911 Turbo (1986-94), Each
$125.55 1 $125.55

I've read that there are inferior oxygen sensors out there.

I went to Pelican and found (and purchased) the above named part. I see now that it says "grommet not included" and have found that the rubber grommet which goes through the sheet metal into the engine bay is, well, not included. Arg.

Now I'm wondering if I got the "correct" part or one of the inferior versions.

Anyone know?

You will need to cut the wires to get the grommet in place. I think this 02 sensor is used on a lot of cars and therefor comes without the grommet.

The correct part numbers are:

964 606 124 01 -90
965 606 126 01 91-

Dont cut the wires , cut the old grommet to fit round the wires. Lamda probes use high temperature wire which is a PIA to solder. Screw connectors on a lamda probe circuit are a bad idea !as they are dealing with low voltage levels which need to be right.

The grommet has 3 holes, one for each cable so cutting the grommet is not a good solution.

Never mind. I buggered the threads trying to screw it in. The old sensor left some metal behind in the cat when I removed it and the new one would not go in.

I need to purchase a new oxygen sensor.

Any thoughts on where to buy the "correct" part?

Thanks

"The grommet has 3 holes, one for each cable so cutting the grommet is not a good solution."

Try a razor cut from the outside down to the hole X three. Pull out the old wires, push in the new. Standard prectice in the Porsche fix-it world.

re: Vertex at $109 . . . When was that? It's now $139. It is the OEM part; which is good.

Thanks for the reference.

you have to tell Vertex that you saw the price in an ad. They play games with their prices.

The oem and the "right one" are not one and the same are they ?
I think I have read that the one from porsche , made by bosch , is better than the oem bosch .
