Did you notice there was no engine in the car in the last sequence (when they dropped it and burned it)?
Gauges not in a good position?? That is a bit of nonsense...
Anyway... it is all for entertainment. I like his shows and wish we had something similar in the US. Or at least the same program transmitted here again.
Hi Andy, yep "How to Kill A Porsche" was the one!
Top Gear is pretty good, but i can't forgive him for his hatred of the 911, It didn't even make the TG list of 'best cars of all time'...
I've always found Clarkson a pain in the neck. Top Gear used to be a superb car programme many years ago, even Clarkson in his early days was good to watch. Regardless of his dislike for 911's, all Top Gear is these days is a vehicle to hear Clarkson's questionable views on everything put forward as gospel. Add to that the fact that he can't drive properly at all and it begs the question why the BBC like him?
Channel 5 offer "Fifth Gear" which is basically all of the old Top Gear team from the BBC and without clarkson. A much better programme, much more interesting, much less up it's own **** and to top it off they have Tiif Needell who seriously knows how to drive a car.
I find Top Gear quite entertaining. Clarkson always likes to play the fool, and does it well for the most part. The part I personally dislike is "The "Star" in a reasonably price car". its just boring !
I feel a bit sorry for Clarkson, he's got it into his head that older 911s 'are gonna kill you' because the 'engine's in the wrong place' so he dismisses them.
His co-presenters on TG have different views though. Richard Hammond says that 'Yes the engine's in the wrong place, but that's the whole point of the car'. And James May recently went out and bought a 3.2 from 911virgin!
However Clarkson loves the 996 turbo and 997 so maybe there's hope for him!
The film clip says alot about the durability and longevity of the 911 marque. I must say that Clarkson has ruined the British televisual motoring press, with his sarcastic attitude and that freaky spiky haired leprechaun that acts like a submissive lap dog laughing at his masters jokes. The only bit I like is the Stig, but he is mute and only drives a Hyundai at 65mph on a race track-big deal!
Where has Quentin Wilson gone,he used to give excellent balanced reviews of the test cars, good and bad points. Why should anyone trust the opinion of a 50 year old, beer gutted, 70's hairstyled self centred journalist who can't even drive very well is beyond me.

Now, really, tell us how you feel.
I like the guy, and watch it for what it is, great entertainment for a car enthusiast. There is really nothing as good out there... even 5th Gear does not compare... although any of the two is better than what we get in the US...
i do agree... Top Gear is an entertainment magazine about cars... not the defenite objective car testing magazine.
Also the fact the Clarkson acts as being full of himself, up his **** and so on IS what makes top gear...huh top gear. He basically despise evrything a bit iconic (posrche 911, and in UK renault clio RS...) and take the opposite direction. But it is all for fun...and honestly, it's quite funny to watch him. The ONE thing one must agree is that it is far from boring... have you listen to car "enthousiast" on speed lately... they deliver as much enthousiasm as watching paint drying! my EUR0,02!
Top Gear's main problem is the persistent racism from Clarkson which is then copied by his sycophantic mates. He can be a funny guy but the petty right-wing politics and regular anti-german jibes shouldn't be allowed.
Give me Tiff and Vicky on 5th Gear any day - I hear it's coming back with a new hour-long format too...
