RSA door panels VS Stock
FYI
I just pulled my stock panels from my 91 C2 they weigh 8.5 lbs each with out speaker including pockets.
The RSA panels including pulls and hardware weigh 3.25 lbs each.
11.5 lbs total weight loss when doing the swap.

Those door panels look so nice!
Now if manual window cranks were easy to find, I know there's a lot of weight savings to be had getting out those heavy motors....!
I didn't get RSA door panels - just make mine into RS/old 911-style ones. Yes, the cheap & ugly way, but it works, and cost nothing! I wonder if the stock cardboard/padding is heavier than the RSA ones..?

Yeah, yeah... I have trouble deciding whether or not to remove the stereo since on some long drives to the track, it's nice to have a CD playing. I just wish they made those "pull-out" style radios like back in the early 90's - I could remove the stereo before the race with ease!
Same issue with the sunroof hardware - it's nice to open the sunroof and listen to that screaming engine when driving it around town.

Manual cranks aren t hard to find as you can source them direct from Porsche - the price will make your eyes water a bit though.
If you pull all the sound proofing you may as well pull the stereo because you won't be able to hear it anyway.
If you open the windows you'll still be able to hear the engine and if you pull the soundproofing you'll be able to hear the engine with them shut.

I have read that the crank windows don't really weigh all that much less. Haven't seen any actual figures though. I will do a post on pelican to see if any of those guys have any facts on the weights. They seem to know just about every thing about 911's
The RSA panels I got are made of nylon covered with paded leather and have a thin foam backing, very nicely made. $275.00 complete.
Garret is that a fire system or a NOs hidding for those long back streight passes.JK
And my stock speakers were totally rotted out, I can hardly believe they even made sound. Had to order a set of Polk Audio replacements. I am going to keep the stock grills for that OEM look though.

I wonder if this pad can be replaced without dropping the motor down like needed with the Porsche part?? I need to do mine soon as parts are falling on the engine. Even notices some of the foam crap on the air filter.
