Same here. I started to remove some of it with a ShopVac to avoid the mess...

I have noticed our cars are getting just old enough now to have the foam as well as the plastic parts starting to dry out and either rot or crack apart. Seems like when ever I take something off the tabs just break off. My engine liner is holding up ok but it is showing signs of drying out. The fun of old cars!
