Default Electric window switch, does it pop out or

Just had a very noisy 4 hour trip with my drivers window stuck down, the switch has broken.

It must have now blown a fuse as passanger window switch is not working now either.

So does the switch just pop out or do I have to remove the door card?

If it just pops out i can swap out the switches pass/driver replace the fuse and get it closed tonight.

Thanks

Yes, and there's a good write-up on a fix on here.

I think Howard (Kahdmus) did it.

Hiya C4-JohnO
The switch pulls out of the door , no need to remove the door card .
The passanger side window needs two good working switchs to work .
If you pull the switches out you can run the windows up and down by switching around the good switches . If you don't push the switches back into the door card , you can move them around from door to door .

Thanks for that, swaped the passanger witht he broken drive side and then seat fuse for window fuse and bingo. Window now closed.

I should now be able to travel tomorrow even if I am now slightly deaf!

I'll get a couple ordered, one spare, or I will reread the thread and see if I can fix it next weekend.

Isn't that fuse box just sweet with a tester and fuse tool.

(as you can tell not a lot of DIY for me in the past year, thats the first time I had been in there!)

Its funny all cars makers don't do the same , make the owner happy with just a few nice things here and there and presto , happy happy .

Right now I have one dead switch , I wired it so that just the two on the drivers side work , the pass side does nothing . If the passinger wants the window up or down , he can ask or she can reach across .
