Just found a very old picture, where the speed is actually higher (indicated 170mph - just over the tacho's redline) than my recent one.

It's a scanned pic - not as good quality as the later, digital ones, but good enough to needle Kevin!

This has got to be one of the coolest threads around.

So Michael, where did you take that picture? Also, I thought n/a 993's topped out at ~170 mph; your speedo is just shy of 190! Did you have a little work done under the hood or are you turbo'd?

I decide that I really must make a stand and show John Boggiano that I really can get the turbo up to the same speeds that he has taken his 964. I mean, this is simply just not on!!

So, I'm lying awake thinking... how do I take a pic of the dials maxed out. I can't do it on the road (legally <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ), and there really isn't a track here that has a straight that allows me to get that fast. Then, it hits me...

I have a friend who has access to a dyno!!

So there we were... we had arranged it all, the car was ready, the night was booked. And I was finally going to get back at Mr B!! <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

I arrived, we tied the car down, got the fan blowing air through the engine, etc etc...
I had the camera ready. In fact, I was going to go one better!!! I was going to video the dials going from zero to maxed... then I was going to make an animated gif as my avatar, and then I was going to post it here... hehehehe... the plan was brilliant!!!

Er...(clears his throat)...anyone know why the speedo doesn't register the rear wheel speed on the 964 Turbo? <img border="0" alt="[oops]" title="" src="graemlins/oops.gif" />
