964 power hood latch
There is a 964 power hood latch for sale on E-bay. I had never heard of this and was wondering how common it is? Not that I am looking for any more complicated mechanisms to control very simple things. BTW, it has a 964 part#.

Questions: how does it connect to the electrical system, where might the operating switch be, has anyone retrofitted one?

You could make that unit electrically operated if you are willing to go through a lot of work. You can always retrofit a release motor from a 944 or 928 rear hatch to a cable that would be pulled by the motor and install a switch to operate it but it really seems like more work than it is worth.
