I have just had my front seats re-trimmed at SouthBound. They look great but makes some of the other leather trim look tired. Are there any products that I could use to 're-paint' the leather and would who-ever be able to match a Porsche trim code (light gray in this case).
James, there are a few people who will re-dye your leather. There's a guy who does work for Camtune who does exactly this... he reckons he does all Porsche and TVR in the South East. Probably not strictly true but you could give him a try - you'll have to book him through Camtune though (I think).
Not a recommendation, because I've never used his services... but I know that's what he does...
Hi JamesE,
I had horrible surface cracks on my driver’s seat (classic Grey leather). When asking around for the best way to cure this 2 options presented themselves
1. Was to get the seat "Conolized" which in layman's terms is similar to a spray-paint over the seat. Which I was told will last appox. 3 to 6 months before that starts coming off and when it does it looks worse than before!! Apparently this is a "trick" known to second-hand car sales people that want a short term "fix" to referb seats. <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />
2. Second option, which I went for is to purchase "Liquid Leather" by "Gliptone". You buy it in a kit for £24.00 incl postage. It includes 1x 500ml high concentrate cleaner 1x 500ml conditioner and a colour wash (with dark or lighter additive to get an exact colour match).
I must say this Gliptone has really improved my seats (I'd only thought afterwards to take a digital photo "before and after" for this forum) to show the improvement.
Here is their website if you’re interested:

Thanks, my real problem is that after having the seats done, SouthBound told me someone had re-dyed the seats at some stage. This was probably pre-sale. Unfortunately they used the wrong colour (which was only evident when a piece of seat trim was removed). The colour is very close but it is not the same (you have to point it out to people but once you notice...) It seems a shame to rip out all the door leather because it is in near perfect condition (i'd leave the rear as there is no contrast).
Hi Guys,
without a doubt, Dye.
Roygarth - All you will need is the Cleaner and conditioner (not the dye, unless you have surface cracks??)if you look on their site they have model nos. (G12 is cleaner, G11 is Conditioner)
JamesE - before ripping anything out, if you can, try and cut a small sample off the seat somewhere and post it to them with teh application form and they will do an exact match (I'm told..). Speak to the "unfriendly" guy that answers the phone he will explain. The benifit of sending a sample is they will do the match for you not like mine I had to do the match because I could get a small off-cut.
Cheers

Sorry Roygarth,
I didn't finish answering your question. When applying the cleaner this does a very, very deep clean (basically strips the seats back to a matt finish) then when you apply the conditioner this puts a sheen back on (not shiny) so this sounds like it will sort your problem out.
All sorted. i'm getting a sample of the leather used by Southbound sent over, then i'll forward it to LiquidLeather. If i'm not happy with it i'll send the car back to southbound and get it done properly.

BTW, if anyone is thinking about replacing interior I can recommend Southbound, they are true enthusiasts
