Anyone wanna 993???
I know this may not be the right place to vent about this but...I'm an idiot! I've had a bunch of Porsches and my favorite, by far was my 1992 C4 coupe. (Sold it for a nice profit and have been kicking myself ever since) I had a choice to mak a coupla weeks ago. I could buy a pretty nice 1991 C2 that had been repainted for $24,000 or an immaculate 993 Cabriolet, all original with no paintwork for $42,000. I screwed up and bought the 993, thinking I would like it a lot more than the 964. Well, it is probably a better car in a lot of ways, but I want a 964 back. If you have been looking to "upgrade" to a 993, here's your chance. I'll need some $$$ to boot, obviously, but I'll make someone a really good deal to trade their 964 for my 993. My personal advice to you is DON'T DO IT!!! The 993s are great cars, but for the difference in price, I'd much reather have a 964. But, anyway... email me if interested. I'll consider any 964, any miles, but must be in excellent condition. If the guy in North Carolina, who bought my Amethyst Metallic C4 coupe reads this, NAME YOUR PRICE! I want my car back!!!
OK, all done. I really would make a good trade deal to someone, though! <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

J-Mc,
Car is polar silver with black leather. All options including hi-fi, 6-disc cd changer, 8-way power seats, 51k miles, no paint work, no dings, scratches, never tracked, etc... It is a really nice car, and without issue (other than I like the 964 just as well). Clutch has been done and I have ALL maintenance records since new!
Jacks911,
If your car was a 5 speed, I'd be throwing $$$ at you. I think Amethys is the coolest color Porsche ever made. I had my 92 C4 in that color as well as a 968 cab. with MODA wheels in amethyst. (that car got a lot of attention!) I would certainly do some trading with you!
If either of you or anyone else really wants to do something, email me at pauldobbs@hotmail.com or call me at 479-366-8267. I'll post a picture of my 993 as soon as possible!

Paul,
You don't actually say why you didn't like the 993. I'd be curious to know why, especially as majority of people seem to rate it as a better car. I think eventually I would buy a 993 (finances permitting) even though I've never driven one, but any negative feedback is always interesting (and will save me loads of money too...).

Riccardo,
To be honest, the 993 IS more car than the 964. It does everything right. I have no problems with the car itself. Here is MY problem:
I paid $29,100 for my 1992 C4 coupe. I loved that car. I never had a complaint about it. It did everything I asked it to do. I wish I hadn't sold it.
Then, I paid $42,000 for this car. It does everything just as well or a little better than the 964. The bottom line is... I do not feel like the 993 is $12,900 better than the 964. Both cars were in incredible condition and I like them both, but for the difference in $$$, I'll take a 964 every time!
Hope this helps!

Paul,
For all the same reasons ...I would not part with my Amethyst C2 ... and my Wife (and I'll admit) like the Tip as well. (with seattle rated as 3rd worst traffic in the US guess why) The color is always a point of discussion at Club events. Had a fellow in a new Viola (Grape)Boxster offer to buy mine last Tour.
The car you are looking for was advertised in our local Club Magazine "Porsche Speil" in May of this year, But, is not listed anymore so it must have sold.

Good luck in your quest. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
